What you are trying to answer
Understand how a player generates shots and points without confusing efficiency percentages with shot volume.
How to use it
Separate volume from efficiency
FGA per game and attempts per game show usage volume; 2P%, 3P%, eFG% and TS% describe efficiency.
Read attempt share correctly
2PT and 3PT attempt share divide field-goal attempts only. Free throws are not part of the field-goal attempt-share bar.
Read scoring source separately
Scoring-source percentages describe the share of tracked points generated from twos, threes and free throws.
Open the underlying games
Use the game-by-game bars and evidence table to see whether the aggregate is stable or driven by a few unusual games.
What the important terms mean
Field-goal efficiency adjusted so a made three receives extra value relative to a made two.
Scoring efficiency across two-pointers, three-pointers and free throws.
Free-throw attempts divided by field-goal attempts; it describes how often free throws accompany field-goal volume.
Share of field-goal attempts taken as twos or threes.
